Rose Bowl Parade
Held on New Year's Day in Pasadena, California, this draws thousands of spectators and is televised nationwide. It is traditionally set for college football playoff matches. The game is preceded by a magnificent parade featuring floats made out of flowers and flower petals.
Saint Patrick's Day
Held on March 17, Irish-Americans celebrate St. Patrick's Day in cities with a sizeable Irish-American population. Grand parades and an evening of drink and revelry characterize this festival. New York City and Boston have the most renowned celebrations.
Kentucky Derby Festival
This is an annual festival in Louisville, Kentucky, (the two weeks preceding the day of the Kentucky Derby) usually held on the first Saturday in May. It is the state's largest single annual event and was started in 1956. It features the Pegasus Parade, the Great Balloon Race, the Great Steamboat Race, and Thunder Over Louisville, a spectacular fireworks display.
