Thailand, getting there and around

Thailand has three major airports: Bangkok International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, and Phuket International Airport. Bangkok International provides free shuttle services to travelers in between terminals. All three airports have sufficient commuter service that could take travelers to their destinations. Taxis are available outside all terminals. Car rental companies like Avis and Budget have offices in the airports. There are also local car rental companies.
Getting around
Thailand has one of the worst traffic situations in Asia. But this has eased over the years. Commuters can take an elevated monorail. A subway is currently being constructed. The bus system is the major means of transportation within the cities as well as for inter-city travel. One of the unique transportations in Thailand is the Tuk tuks, these are motorized three-wheeler vehicles that are perfect for traveling short distances. Ferries and river taxis are also available especially in waterways like the Chao Phraya River. Taxi cabs are very prevalent all over Thailand.
