Jordan is bounded by countries such as Israel , Syria , Iraq and Saudi Arabia . The famous Dead Sea lies in the northwest, and the Red Sea in the southwest. Deserts occupy the east. Amman is the country's capital since 1921. The central part gives travelers a glimpse of the more traditional city with the Roman amphitheatre dating from the 2 nd century AD, as its main attraction.

Jerash, a superb Greco-Roman city which is less than an hour drive from Amman , is known for the Triumphal Arch and the Hippodrome. Another one of the Middle-Eastern world's wonders is the Petra , a huge amphitheatre concealed by the rocks that have been carved into a beautiful façade. The Dead Sea shines day and night surrounded by an eerie picturesque. The city and other major towns are bustling with nightclubs, theatres, cinemas and bars.
