Jamaica, getting there and around

There are two international airports and three major ports to get to Jamaica. Major airlines providing services from various points of origin to Montego Bay or Kingston are Air Jamaica, Air Canada, Air Sunshine, KLM/ Dutch Caribbean, American Airlines, American Trans Air, BWIA, British Airways, Cayman Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Martinair, Northwest Airlines, Sky King, US Airways and Spirit Airlines. Jamaica is also a favorite stopover for cruise ships.
Getting Around
The cost of hiring a car is reasonable and more convenient, especially if it comes with a private guide. It is much better to use a driver hired by hotels for its clients as driving in Jamaica might prove to be quite a challenge. Public buses are not quite efficient as they usually pass only thru the popular routes. Finding a bus in places other than these routes can be very hard. One can also travel by air as there are domestic flights available.
