Iran, important visitor information
Climate
The country enjoys variations of the four seasons. Summers and winters usually start out with moderate warm and cold weathers, respectively. But these two seasons could get horribly extreme during their peaks especially in the months July (summer), January, and February (winter).
Rainfall is very rare in the country, except for the far northern and western regions. The best months to visit the country fall under the Spring (mid-April to late May) and Autumn seasons (late September to early November).
Currency
The Iranian Rial (R) is the currency used in the country. Cash is very important in the economy because credit cards and travelers' checks take a lot of time and effort to process or are not accepted.
Language
Persian (Farsi) is the official language of Iran . Among the minor regional languages, Arabic is spoken in the region of Khuzestan, while Turkish is concentrated in Tabriz . Other regional languages include Azari, Lori, and Kurdish. English, French, and German are the common business languages used within the country.
Religion
Islam is the predominant religion in Iran , approximately 89% Shi'ite and 10% Sunnis. Christians, Jews, and Zoroastrians are considered distant minorities.
