Bali

Even with threats of terrorist activity, Bali remains one of the most desirable vacation places in the world, and for good reason. It has a picturesque, almost surreal, landscape, ranging from rice terraces that resemble huge steps on stairs, volcanoes with craters reaching up to the heavens, lush tropical forests, and breathtaking beaches.

Jakarta

Like most capitals, Jakarta has fallen into decline and has been plagued by pollution. But most city lovers will find this metropolis a worthwhile visit, as it possesses its very own charm, much like the strange-smelling durian, an exotic fruit that's popular in this area.

Lombok

This location can be considered a less developed Bali , but not less picturesque. It boasts of an even bigger volcano, and also offers up a variety of landscapes. This is the perfect for a peaceful getaway, as Lombok is pretty low-key and entertains fewer tourists.

Borobudur

This spiritual monument has stayed steadfast even after the eruption of Gunung Merapi and the terrorist bombings. It has also survived visits from a great many tourists, and has managed to maintain its spirituality and enigma after 1200 years of existence.
