Haiti, getting there and around

By Air
Haiti only has one international Airport. It is officially called the Guy Malary International Airport but abroad it is better known as Port-au-Prince International Airport . A departure tax is charged when leaving Haiti by air which is not included with the price of the ticket. It is also important to remember to have your passport and yellow entry card when leaving Haiti .
By Car
For those not taking the aerial route, it is an eight-hour drive to Haiti 's Port-au-Prince Airport from Caribintair.
By Train
There are no routes going to Haiti by train or railway.
Getting Around
The cheapest way around Haiti is by bus with prices ranging from 1.00 to 7.00 depending on how far you go. There are no specific departure times for the buses though. The buses leave their departure points once all seats have been filled.
Car rentals are also available for those adventurous enough. Haiti 's streets are notorious for its potholes and dilapidated cars as well as its winding roads and speeding buses that make driving that much more exciting.
Haiti has a taxi system called publiques. which basically take different passengers to different places for 10 gourdes per trip. These taxis have no distinct markings save for the red ribbon on their mirror.
