By plane

From anywhere in the world, the Czech Republic is accessible via the Prague International Airport (PRG), located in the city's northwest side Ruzyne. It has daily flights to and from major cities around Europe, with transfer flights in London, Frankurt, Paris, or the Amsterdam. It services the Czech Airlines, British Airways, Alitalia, British Midland, Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, and many others.

By train

International trains marked "IC" (Intercity), or "EC" (Eurocity) can also take visitors to Prague, if coming from major European territories such as Warsaw, Frankurt, Vienna, and Bonn. The railway stations for these international trains are the Prague Main Railway and the Prague Holesovice.

By coach

Getting to Prague from London is possible by coach services offered by Eurolines and Kingscourt Express. The 20 minute ride to and from London runs daily. This is the cheapest travel mode to the Czech Republic.

By car

The Czech republic is linked by a system of motorways and country roads that pass through quaint picturesque towns and villages, hence a road travel by car to Prague is desirable. Like any other European territories, cars are right-hand drive sided. Speed limit in major roads is 90 kph, and 50 kph in others. Placing children under the age of 12 at the front seat is not allowed.

 

Getting Around

Rail

To travel between the main city Prague and other cities and towns in the country, one can take the railway rides of the Czech Railways. Travel to major routes should be made in advance, as passenger traffic is heavy.

Bus

To reach areas not accessible by rail, bus transportation is most recommended. The State Bus Company operates most bus services.

Rent-A-Car

Car rent companies such as Hertz, Avis, and others make self-guided tours easier. Among the important things to remember are the compulsory seat belt, drinking prohibition, and other road regulations. In case of emergency road situations, call 1230 or 1240 for assistance.

Other Public Transport

A metro service runs through Prague, as well as trams, buses trolleybuses, and metered taxis that can get you anywhere in the Czech Republic from Prague.
