Weather
Belgium has varied climate from day to day. Rain is mild and fairly consistent throughout the year. You can experience the most pleasant conditions during summer. Winters are characterized by overcast skies and generally frosty temperature.

Business Hours
Typical business hours are from 10am to 5pm for museums, six days a week, and 9am to 6pm for department stores. Belgian restaurants usually serve lunch between 1 to 3pm, and dinner between 7 to 10 pm.
Dining
When eating in Belgium you can choose between modest bistros to elegant Michelin three-star restaurants. Belgian cuisine is similar to French and each region has its own specialty. Famous food include the Belgian chocolate, waffles and chips, Ardennes sausages and ham. And food are almost always served with drinks.
Local beers are very good. Popualr varieties are the Lambic, made from wheat and barley and Trappist. Majority of cafes now have licenses to serve liquor. Beers and wines are freely obtainable everywhere and there are no licensing hours.
Tipping
Hotel bills, restaurant bills and taxi fares include a service charge of 16%. Tip only when the service is exceptional. Suggested tips for the following are: € 1 per piece for portage; €1.25 - € 2.50 per coat for attendants and € 0.25 - € 0.50 for bathroom attendants.
